What Is the World Coming to?
What is this world coming to! In the grand scheme of things everybody knows that lying is not a good thing. Having said that, what could be the reason our President insists on tying the 9/11 taking down of the Twin Towers with the war in Iraq. Is the American public so dumb that they can't remember when the administration had no choice but to admit that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. It has to be one of two things; either the President and his administration know something the American public doesn't know, or, the Bush administration is counting on the fact that we Americans are a forgetful people. I don't know about anybody else, but I don't want the President of these United States lying to my face about things that matter. After all, more than 2500 soldiers have died because the administration said there were weapons of mass destruction and that an attack was imminent. I even heard today that Cheney (our vice president) was quoted as saying that the United States would have attacked Iraq even if there were no weapons of mass destruction. It bugs me to no end when people who should know better are lying just because they're worried about the polls and about upcoming elections. I would sure hate to be a kid at this time in America. Children are being inundated with all kinds of mixed messages and on top of that, the President of the United States and his administration are lying in order to move their agenda forward. We all hear about Rap Music and how it is destroying our youth, but when we have our leaders misrepresenting the truth, people lose faith in everything our country stands for. What do we do now? Tell our children that it's OK to lie because that's how you win in politics? I think not. We probably have to teach them that despite the way our leadership does things nowadays, when they grow up they will have the chance to bring back honor and respect to the White House. What an embarrassment.
